Dear Sir Rod,

We are pleased to learn that you will be playing a concert in Israel later this year and wanted to write to show our support for this decision.

We do not agree with your fellow Celtic fans whose petition is asking you to boycott Israel. Their argument is based on a false and pernicious analogy between Israel and apartheid South Africa, when Israel is in fact a multicultural democratic society where citizens of all faiths and ethnicities have equal rights – including the right to see you in concert!

Cultural boycotts do not produce peace, but rather burn bridges and isolate people from one another. Cultural boycotts singling out Israel are divisive and discriminatory, given it is the world’s only Jewish State and the only democracy in the Middle East.

Music can be a powerful force for bringing people together.

We look forward to seeing you play in Israel and hope that you have a great time visiting and performing in a beautiful and welcoming country.

Thank you

Will you sign?
