Proscribe Palestine Action

WBII, in partnership with The Shield of David and Stop the Hate UK, has launched a national campaign to proscribe Palestine Action as a domestic extremist organisation.

Palestine Action’s track record is clear: it engages in systematic harassment, intimidation, and criminal sabotage—not peaceful protest. From the vandalism of public property to the targeting of Jewish-owned businesses, diplomatic buildings, and academic institutions, their tactics mirror those of extremist groups, not civil society actors. Their aim is not policy change—it is the delegitimisation and destruction of the UK–Israel relationship, using fear and disruption as their tools.

This campaign is about defending democracy, the rule of law, and community cohesion. At a time of rising antisemitism and extremism on British streets, silence is complicity. We believe that Palestine Action poses a direct threat to public order, minority communities, and democratic life in the UK. It is time for action.

Urgent Call to Investigate and Proscribe Palestine Action Under UK Law

Dear XXX

I am writing to raise grave concerns regarding the escalating and dangerous activities of the group known as Palestine Action. What may have once masqueraded as protest has unmistakably mutated into a campaign of organised harassment, political violence, and intimidation—disproportionately directed at British Jews and Jewish-owned institutions.

Palestine Action purports to be an activist movement. In reality, its operational methods, ideological framing, and repeated engagement in violent criminal acts mirror those of proscribed extremist groups. This is no longer civil disobedience—it is the systematic targeting of a minority community under the pretext of political protest.

There is mounting and deeply troubling evidence of Palestine Action’s radicalisation, strategic planning, and ideological incitement:

  • Stamford Hill, May 2025 – A Jewish-owned investment firm was vandalised with red paint and the slogan “Drop Elbit.” The business had no ties to Elbit Systems. This act, for which Palestine Action claimed responsibility, is now under investigation by the Metropolitan Police as racially aggravated criminal damage.

  • Rico House, Manchester, May 2025 – A site housing Jewish businesses was defaced with “Happy Nakba Day” graffiti. No link to arms manufacturing or trading was established.

  • Coordinated Attacks, November 2024 – On the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, multiple Jewish institutions—including BICOM and JNF UK—were targeted solely on the basis of their identity and affiliation.

  • Elbit Facility, Bristol, August 2024 – Ten Palestine Action operatives rammed a decommissioned prison van into Elbit’s gates. Charges filed included aggravated burglary and criminal damage.

  • Kuehne + Nagel Site, January 2024 – Palestine Action vandalised this Milton Keynes facility under unfounded claims of arms transportation, causing significant damage.

  • University of Manchester, November 2024 – Activists stole busts of Chaim Weizmann, Israel’s first president, in a symbolic act of historical erasure.

Palestine Action’s ideological language is laced with incitement. It does not distinguish between the State of Israel and the British Jewish community. It glorifies criminality, deems those convicted of violent acts “political prisoners,” and routinely targets businesses, charities, and individuals solely for perceived associations with Jewish identity or Israel.

Their strategic use of misinformation, glorification of “direct action,” and disdain for legal process constitute a textbook pattern of radicalisation. This movement now operates less like an activist group and more like an insurgent network.

I urge you to urgently assess whether Palestine Action meets the threshold for proscription under the Terrorism Act 2000, or at the very least, to refer this group to the Commission for Countering Extremism for a formal investigation.

This is not about silencing dissent. This is about drawing a clear and necessary boundary between legitimate protest and ideologically motivated criminality that deliberately endangers minority communities.

The Jewish community in Britain has the right to safety, dignity, and protection under the law. No one should live in fear for their livelihood or their identity.

I remain at your disposal to provide further evidence or to support a formal dialogue on this matter.

Yours faithfully,

🛑 Why Proscription Matters

The UK Government has already proscribed organisations that engage in activities threatening public order, glorifying violence, or promoting hate. Palestine Action checks every box:

  • They target Jewish and Israeli-linked institutions.

  • They publicly justify criminal damage and civil disruption.

  • They foster online radicalisation and incitement through social media platforms.

  • They maintain links to proscribed and extremist entities, including the PFLP (Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine), a designated terrorist organisation.

Proscribing Palestine Action would:

  • Send a clear message that violence and intimidation have no place in democratic protest.

  • Protect British Jews and pro-Israel advocates from rising antisemitic aggression.

  • Uphold the rule of law and democratic order.
