Tell the BBC: Enough is Enough – It’s Time for Truth and Accountability

At We Believe in Israel, we have always stood for truth, accountability, and the fair treatment of Israel and the Jewish people in the public discourse. Today, we are proud to announce a powerful new campaign in partnership with Stop the Hate UK:

"Tell the BBC: Stop the Bias. Stop the Hate."

The BBC—our national broadcaster, funded by the British public—has launched a public consultation to shape its future. This is a rare and important opportunity for our communities to be heard.

Together with Stop the Hate UK, we are urging all our supporters to take part and call on the BBC to stop platforming extremism, to stop rationalising terrorism, and to start reporting in line with both journalistic integrity and British law.

Why This Campaign Matters

For too long, the BBC has failed to reflect the values of impartiality and accuracy when reporting on Israel and Jewish issues. Among the most pressing concerns:

  • Hamas, a proscribed terrorist organisation under UK law, continues to be described as a "militant group" by the BBC

  • Antisemitism and anti-Zionism are often softened or reframed through linguistic contortions and false equivalence

  • The BBC has aired documentaries and interviews featuring individuals linked to extremist networks, using public funds to do so

  • Complaints from the Jewish community are met with silence, delay, or token responses that fall short of genuine accountability

This is not neutrality. It is distortion. And it has consequences.

What We’re Demanding

Together, We Believe in Israel and Stop the Hate UK are calling for the BBC to:

✅ Clearly identify terrorist organisations and their crimes, in line with British legal definitions
✅ Cease acting as a platform for apologists of terror or those who incite hatred against Jews and Israelis
✅ Implement proper vetting procedures before broadcasting content involving radical or extremist voices
✅ Publicly commit to transparency in how it handles complaints related to antisemitism and biased coverage
✅ Ensure its journalism reflects the values of a democratic society—not the talking points of extremists

This Is About More Than Bias

This is about the moral credibility of our national broadcaster. It is about protecting the integrity of our public discourse. And it is about ensuring that Jewish communities across the UK are not demonised, sidelined, or endangered by the narratives pushed through publicly funded platforms.

Together, we can send a message the BBC cannot ignore.
